Çalış Beach is a long stretch of sand and shingle just north of Fethiye town, facing Şövalye Island and the islands of Fethiye Bay. It is loved for its sunsets, a flat seafront promenade and a relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere with plenty of small hotels and restaurants.
Places to see
- Çalış promenade A long, level seafront walk that is busy with families and cyclists in the evening.
- Sunset over the bay The beach faces west, so the islands are silhouetted against the setting sun.
- Fethiye harbour A water taxi links Çalış with the town centre in a pleasant short crossing.
Things to do
- Cycle the promenade towards Fethiye town
- Try windsurfing or kitesurfing when the afternoon breeze picks up
- Take the water taxi to Fethiye for the fish market and old quarter
- Çalış is one of the closest resort areas to Dalaman Airport on the Fethiye side.
- Afternoon winds can make the sea choppy, so mornings are best for calm swimming.
